  1. Philippians 2:21 – Timothy and Epaphroditus ( Link )
    • 20 I have nobody else like him who will genuinely care for your needs.
21 For all the others look after their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.
22 But you know Timothy’s proven worth, that as a child with his father he has served with me to advance the gospel.…
  2. 2nd Timothy 3:2 – Evil in the Last Days ( Link )
    • 1 But understand this: In the last days terrible times will come.
2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good,…
  3. 2nd Corinthians 8 ( Link )
    • 1 Now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the churches of Macedonia. In the terrible ordeal they suffered, their abundant joy and deep poverty overflowed into rich generosity. 3  For I testify that they gave according to their ability and even beyond it. Of their own accord, 4 they earnestly pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. And not only did they do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us, because it was the will of God So we urged Titus to help complete your act of grace, just as he had started it. 7 But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness, and in the love we inspired in you —see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 8   I am not making a demand, but I am testing the sincerity of your love in comparison to the earnestness of others.
    • 13   It is not our intention that others may be relieved while you are burdened, but that there may be equality. 14  At the present time, your surplus will meet their need, so that in turn their surplus will meet your need. Then there will be equality.
15  As it is written: “He who gathered much had no excess, and he who gathered little had no shortfall.”

2 But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He will be like a refiner’s fire, like a launderer’s soap.
3 And He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will present offerings to the LORD in righteousness.…

3 Now go and attack the Amalekites and devote to destruction all that belongs to them. Do not spare them, but put to death men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”
4 So Saul summoned the troops and numbered them at Telaim—200,000 foot soldiers and 10,000 men of Judah.…

    • Isaiah 44:26 – Jerusalem to Be Restored ( Link )

  1. Self Interest
    • Everything people do these days is for their own self interest
    • God has come to the conclusion that everybody singing, dancing, and praising is there for his own self interest
    • Is it the dancer, is the praise worshiper, is it the Apostle?
    • Quoting Scripture.  He is there for himself
  2. Lover of Themselves
    • People are there to use God
    • They have been taught to give and that it will be given back to them
    • So seeing people at Church is no longer an indication of fellowship with God
    • It no longer means they have a relationship with God
  3. Marketable
    • In fact now are days, it is more marketable when you use God
    • So people use the name of God to accomplish there own objectives
  4. Poor
    • Some pastors have gone so far and are now saying don’t give to the poor; as it might not be on fruitful grounds
  5. Reasons for giving ( New Testament )
    • Create Equity
    • Advance God’s Kingdom
  6. Sent Man / Set Man
    • Everything happening has to happen around the set man
    • It is called Ponzi Scheme
    • Somebody is praying here that is why the atmosphere is created
    • How many have you walked to person and said:-
      • Oh I was blessed; please take this seed; just to encourage the person
      • Never.  You will never give her a seed to encourage her
    • You want all your seed to come to the apostle
    • Because, You heard he gave a prophetic word to a person and the person was blessed
    • You will like to receive the same word
    • Pyramid System
      • Church becomes a pyramidal system
      • Everything happening must happen around the sent/set man
      • It is called Ponzi Scheme
    • I am not the anointed person
    • And, I am not the only person laboring here
    • You don’t always give to receive a prophetic word
    • Usher
      • sometimes give to the usher to encourage the usher
      • You came here for 3 months and everyday you saw the user
      • it is called brotherly love
    • Go Around
      • Even when God servant receives a seed it will never go around
      • God’s servant is the only one who is called
  7. Malachi 3:2
    • We like to quote Malachi 3:2
    • But, that verse does not speak To Church members
    • It speaks to the priest and Levites
  8. World System
    • Hospital
      • If you visit the Hospital, you will see that the MD ( Medical Doctor ) and his assistant are dressed similarly
      • There salary is not too far apart
      • In the particular instance the world
      • system is more just than the church’s compensation structure
      • The salary is designed in such a way that everybody will take something home
      • The world system is more righteous
    • Make sure you do not choke do who work under you
    • Make sure
    • If not your Christianity is fake
  9. In our church
    • Church workers
      • We make sure that in the first month of each church worker’s service we start paying them
    • Volunteers
      • Even among our volunteers, we periodically check which volunteers are struggling particularly
      • The person wants to serve God, but even when it comes to transportation fare he is struggling
  10. Self Preservation
    • Self Preservation is killing what God is doing
    • We preach the kingdom and kingdom will never reflect in the life of people
    • Self preservation is the spirit of this age
  11. Selfishness
    • Selfishness is killing the gospel
    • That is the basis of why people love this world and they are forsaken the Gospel
    • In 2nd Timothy 4:10, Self Concern, Love of the World
  12. Weigh
    • The guy loves the Lord
    • Came to Church and gave his all
    • After two years he discovered that the work he was doing the Hospital ( world ) is more effective
    • He will rather serve God from the Hospital
  13. Work at Church
    • The salary is not good
    • It is not up to minimum wage
    • And you must
      • Pay tithe,
      • Pay first fruits
      • Give prophetic seeds
    • The week they pay you, the pastor will start watching everybody like this
      • I did not see your tithe
      • when last did you pay your first fruits
      • have you given any prophetic seeds
    • The $10000 they paid you, you will give $700 back to the Church
    • The guy will say please, I will rather go be a cleaner someone else
    • At the very least, I will have enough to pay my tithes

    • this is why we are week
    • this is why the world is ridiculing the church
  15. Self Exhortation – First Danger – Exoneration from divine intervention ( Proverbs 21:13 )
    • Said:-
      • Self Preservation exonerates you from divine intervention
    • Heard:-
      • Self Exhortation exonerates you from divine intervention
    • Because you are insensitive to others and only sensitive to yourself
    • God says when you also need intervention, you will not find it
    • A man who wants to live for himself, will actually be separated to live for himself
    • If you want intervention in your life, you must first begin to intervene in the lives of others
    • If you do not know how to intervene in the lives of others
      • No matter how you cry
      • No matter the tongues you speak
      • No matter how bogus your message is, you will be left in the dry land
    • If you block your ears to the cry of others
    • One day all of us will cry
    • That day you will die desperately seeking intervention
    • On that day, the ultimate ears will be shut from you
  16. Self Exhortation – Second Danger – Hiding oneself from those in need, leads to curses ( Proverbs 28:27 )
    • Whoever gives to the poor will not be in need, but he who hides his eyes will receive many curses ( Proverbs 28:27 )
    • Sentenced to the path of lack
    • Find people who are selfish and self centered
      • You will find their lives continually reduce to nothingness
    • The bible says the liberal sower shall be made fat
      • The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. ( Proverbs 11:25 )
    • You do not give because you have the resources, you give because you have the heart
    • A man who does not have the heart to give, can never find help
    • His path is already littered with lack
    • He may not see it
    • The little he has will soon finish
    • when it finishes, he will see how he has hedged himself into nothingness and into oblivion
  17. Self Exhortation – Third Danger – It causes you to constantly reduce and not increase ( Haggai 1:9 )
    • Use God
      • I already told you that people use God
      • Now, when God’s house is in ruin
      • You turned away and went to find your own comfort
      • God is telling you when that happens, even the one you have, I will blow on it
      • Till your hands become empty
    • Hedged into one self
      • That man will constantly reduce
      • No matter his investment, no matter his strategy
      • The forces of nature will fight him
      • And, God himself will fight him
    • Selfishness
      • This person is so sensitive, he is not just sensitive unto his neighbors
      • he is insensitive unto the house of God
    • Legitimacy
      • The things he labored legitimately to gather
      • You work hard
      • You are diligent
      • When you take it home
      • I will blow on it
      • And, from no where
        • You will find hospital bills that will take 40% of your money
        • accident will take 30%
        • and, you are wondering what is going on
        • a wind is being blown into your hands
    • Self
      • This is what happens to these people
      • They only think self
      • In order for God to let them look unto him, he blows wind on their path
  18. Self Exhortation – Fourth Danger – A Man wise in his own conceit ( Proverb 26:12 )
    • Conceit/Deceit
      • A Man wise in his own conceit
      • A fool has more going for him
    • Fool
      • Someone else it says a fool says there is no God
      • That is a Godless man has more hope than a man who walks in selfish preservation
    • Unpredictable
      • Your future is unpredictable no matter how beautiful and rosy it looks today
    • Wicked

    • Verses
      • Samuel said to Saul ( 1st Samuel 15:3 )
      • 1st Samuel 15:8 –
    • Self Preservation
      • You think self so much that God becomes small to you
    • Heap Praise
      • Heap praise on the Lord’s prophet ( 1st Samuel 15:13 )
    • Saul
      • Samuel said the people brought them
      • They brought them to sacrifice
    • Church Gifts
      • Stole 2 billion from the government coffers and brought 2 million to the church
      • God will only accept something from you, once he has accepted you
      • Once God rejects you, he will no longer your gifts
    • Saul grabbed Samuel
      • Even if God has rejected me, do not demonstrate God’s rejection in front of my people
      • When David was told God has rejected him, David, himself shredded his own garments, pour ashes
      • Saul on the other was
        • Let me think about the elders
        • Let us do some sort of diplomacy here
        • we do not have to show everybody that something is wrong
        • calm down prophets
    • Rejection
      • Self preservation ultimately leads to rejection
    • Singer

      • After 4 years, God rejects you
      • You are still singing, but the glory is gone
    • Saul’s Rejection
      • Saul sat on the throne for a long time
      • But, the glory had left
      • God had met someone else, who is in the wilderness
      • Because God does not need a palace, anywhere God is Heaven
    • Many have been rejected
      • That business you are doing has been rejected
      • because you cut corners too long
      • You wanted to build a house
      • Building a house was your greatest pursuit
      • An undiscerning Pastor will come and say we consecrate this house in the name of the Lord
      • He will take that seed money and go away
      • You will give that seed money and it will be big, but God has rejected you
      • This is what the spirit of the age has come to
        • God has rejected you, even while you are calling on his age
        • when you get to eternity you will say we casted out devils in your name
        • away from me, thou that walk in iniquity
        • you did not know you were rejected 30 years before you left the earth
        • God will say I now they eventually made you a bishop
        • Yet, I rejected while you were still a deacon
        • Didn’t you notice that they started hearing that little boy’s voice, yet while he was still in the wilderness
