Scripture – Exposition – Why ? “Missed Spots”

Background

God has increasingly laid a burden.

That burden is to occasionally post on the value of expository bible reading.

Scripture

When the Devil comes into our lives, he will he choose to highlight one text over the other.

  1. Genesis
    • The Temptation and Fall of Man ( Genesis 3:1-5 ) ( Link )
      • Now the serpent was more subtil
      • Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.
        • For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.
  2. 1st Timothy
    • 1st Timothy 6:10 ( Link )
      • For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
  3. Psalm
    • Psalm 62:10 ( Link )
      • Place no trust in extortion, or false hope in stolen goods.
If your riches increase, do not set your heart upon them.

Teaching

A few weeks ago I was back on youtube listening to a sermon, by a well known preacher.

He did the right thing :-

  1. He stated his topic
  2. He read aloud the scripture
  3. Thankfully, he read a few verses
  4. And, then he went line by line, verse by verse

Holy Spirit

Thankfully the Holy Spirit had him read those specific verses.

Thankfully, the Holy Spirit had him go line by line.

Thankfully, each line was of equal importance.

And, thankfully he spent a lot more time on some verses over the other.

What is my point?

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Teacher

Though this pastor chose to highlight some verses and hurried through some, the Holy Spirit is still able to speak through those otherwise silent verses.

  1. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
    ( John 14:26 ) [ Link ]

Parting Shots

Beloved, I pray that the spirit of the Living God cover and coveth over you.

Here are some abiding verses.

Proverbs 4:7 ( Link )

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Daniel 4:17 ( Link )

This decision is by the decree of the watchers, And the sentence by the word of the holy ones, In order that the living may know That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, Gives it to whomever He will, And sets over it the lowest of men.

To give him the truth is to multiply the reasons for misinterpretations.
