  1. Apostle Paul ( 1st Timothy 1:13 )
    • Verses
      • Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief.
    • Interpretation
      • I was formerly a Blasphemer
      • Shown Mercy ( Grace)
      • My sin was out of Ignorance
  2. Matthew 24:24
    • For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

  3. 1st Corinthian 6:9-11

Background

There has been so much said in the last few days.

Sometimes it is not quite topical.

It is really just people hijacking issues and wanting something to say.

Whether it is school shooting or whatever else is trending, it really does not matter.

People are angry, frustrated and just wanting to let off.

 

Friendships & Ties

Not having friends, associates, and ties to communities sometimes allows and excuses us to paint with bigger brushes than we otherwise would have.

When we are among friends we sometimes take the liberties we otherwise wouldn’t.

Physical spaces affords us that intimacy, but now sometimes now it is Web Communities.

 

Almost Naivete

We are probably at that point where speaking against someone that people look up to, will cause a bit of rancor.

In as much possible, just don’t to do it.

The stakes are high and will likely only get higher.

 

Words do matter

Words do matter.

  1. Miranda Rights
    •  You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you.

      • Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends. ( Proverbs 17: 9 )
      • Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. ( Ephesians 4:29 )

Public Spaces

With difficulties and sometimes headstrongness we come into our public spaces.

And, think that if we say things a certain way, we might make our points.

We sometimes riddle the other side.

 

Gaps

The truth of the matter is that we have gaps.

Some are obvious.

Parenting Gaps

We are experiencing a parenting gap.

And, it translates to economic gap, and within a generation or two into education deficits.

Uncorrected we feel and get comfortable with being who we are, where we live, what we do, and the words we use.

Peoples read into words and and take the viewpoint that “If you don’t care about me, reading from how you speak to or about me, why should I care about you“.

It is vitally important to our conduct how we dissect how much care about us.

If read wrong, our conduct is a bit forced or withdrawn.

 

Role Modeling

I think it is important to step in and help these young men as they are role models, whether they are ill prepared or not.

In too many cases they are all we have.

 

Affords

I hope that life affords you the opportunities to take some words back.  But, more so to care where you did not as much.

To re-arrange things and if unable to, to pray and hope God sends those more able.

 

Work to do….

Just the other day, one young man said

I still have a lot of work to do….

Don’t we all.

There is just too much to do that we ought not to waste “put downs“.

Undeserved put-downs are sometimes just what one needs.

Things said sometimes acts as great reminder and reasons to work harder.

It has been a tough couple of days for me.
On Tuesday I realized the parting of Brother Nabeel Qureshi and I have been down ever since.
Took a mental, psychological Day Off from work yesterday.
Was able to ride the Coastline and I am just so thankful.

Comforting Words

As Ravi Zacharias said on one of his lectures, irrespective of the gifts and words of an Apologist what often wins out is Love.

Basis for True Spirituality

  1. Natural Balava
    • In regards to me two groups of people should be destroyed.  He who loves me too much that love takes him from what is correct; and he who hates me too much that hate takes him from what is correct.
    • In regards to me, it is he who follows the middle course.

Great Lord of Hosts, you have given us and always give us your best.  Ever so often  you do ask for our best, as a qualifier of a great pledge on your part.

Though young, yet weaned, as Hannah did centuries before “we turn Nabeel over to you Lord”.

We are accepting that “No one knows the things of God, except God’s Spirit.”

Preface

I think it was Monday morning through Google News that I first became aware of the Kenneka Jenkins story.

 

Desperation

At face value there seems to be quite a bit lost in translating those early hours of “Innocence Lost” into community participation.

What does one do when a young adult goes missing.

Once someone is 18 they pretty much have a right to self determination.  They can simple say and do their Yeses and Noes.

They can stay gone and missing for a few days.

As I read it her mother woke up and went to the Hotel and asked for help once contacted by her friends and told they could not find her.

It appears she was told by the Hotel Clerks that can only do so much until she files a “Missing Person” report.

 

Womanhood

You could tell the mother loves her.

One could tell her Sister loves her.

I think there was a young man that stood with her mother, as well.

Sometimes during adolescence we try so very hard at holding on to those who love us.

But, more so, at navigating towards our own Identity and the Yeses that come within that.

Seemingly, it is the price of Womanhood.

 

How things look and how they are

Hair done, nails nailed

Face prettied, gowns worn

From the look of things sure and ready for anything

 

But, at nineteen she hardly knows the glasses and mirrors that covers the pond

Just because a river welcomes and receives sunlight does not mean it forever stood idly by

There is often so much washed in and washed away

 

 

Safe

It was a girlfriend’s birthday
And, so not much should go wrong
Take Mama’s Car
Check in and stay indoors with friends
Come back home to waiting family

 

Bitterness

The Psalmist wrote …

The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy

 

Time

Each time has its own stories, fables, and myths
Ours is just too much to keep to self
Sharing is caring
And, so I am thinking I will beam it on Facebook
Some come to watch, others to celebrate, and yet others to mourn

There is a little bit for everyone
Items for sale, yet they could be had for free

 

Weasel

Weasel away time
Weaseling away time, like we could have it back
Whistling away life
Like we could whistle the Spirit back in it

 

Courage

Mistakenly uncaring-ness for courage
Mistaken “Made up mind” for ineptness
Pride in “Standing our grounds” like it always been ours
A generation here, a generation there
It could go either way

 

War Within

In the middle of a chess game
Pieces always moving

Debt

Like in the song “Wildflower” sang by “Color Me Badd
Sincerely it sings about how

always paying, for a debt she never owes

No one else would sign up to pay it
So it rests on her
By morning, hopefully it had been fully paid
And, her Spirit can yield, and float featherless and wingless having yielded the weight of life

Chuck Missler likes to say “the only barrier to the truth is assuming you have it“.

We steadily thinking we know and calling out our enemies.

But, Wallahi, yet sometimes things be more complicated.

See who is satisfied with you fucking up.

See who holds on to his best and shares your worst with the world

Yea, Squeezed

Yea, finally here I am

Kenneka, caring is the least we can do.
Though the world seems a little hardened after all that has happened, and is happening
Yet centuries ago, to steady our feets, someone muttered:

two sparrows going for a penny, yet not one of them falls to the ground outside of our father’s care“.

Testimony

As an addendum, it pains me to see the extent that Christian leaders go to rid their congregations of pain for the lost and burden for those losing in so many facets of society.

We prepare carefully and lawyerly worded coded messages.

 

Ways

You say tell me in what ways:

  1. Abortion
    • Run to Washington for Pro-Life legislation
    • Leave out the message of Adoption
  2. Sexual Preferences
    • We take the place of the Holy Spirit and preach to each other, rather than those who we are supposedly trying to reach
  3. Prosperity Gospel
    • Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal ( Matthew 6:19 )
    • Do not weary yourself to gain wealth, Cease from your consideration of it. ( Proverbs 23:4 )
    • This is how it will be for anyone who stores up treasure for himself but is not rich toward God. ( Luke 12:21 )
    • Those who want to be rich, however, fall into temptation and become ensnared by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. ( 1 Timothy 6:9 )
    • Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business, and make a profit.”
      You do not even know what will happen tomorrow! What is your life? ( James 4:13 )
  4. Love & Fear ?
    • There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
      We love him, because he first loved us.
      If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
      And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
      ( 1 John 4:18-21 )
  5. Brotherly Love
    • If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him? ( 1 John 3:17 )
  6. Hypocrites
    • Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You traverse land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are. ( Matthew 23:15)
  7. Apostolic Authority
    • Such people should consider that what we are in our letters when absent, we will be in our actions when present.
      We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they show their ignorance.
      We, however, will not boast beyond our limits, but only within the field of influence that God has assigned to us—a field that reaches even to you.… ( 2 Corinthians 10:12 )
  8. Righteousness
    • For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. ( Matthew 5:20 )
  9. Borrower
    • Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. ( Matthew 5:42 )
  10. Prosecution
    • Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at His word: “Your brothers who hate you, who exclude you for My name’s sake, Have said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy.’ But they will be put to shame. ( Isaiah 66:5 )
  11. Community
    • Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. ( Hebrews 10:25  )

 

That which is hidden

Therefore judge nothing before the proper time; wait until the Lord comes.
He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts.
At that time each will receive his praise from God. ( 1 Corinthians 4:5 ).

 

Old Testament

I know it is customarily these days to say we only follow the New Testament and so the Mosaic Law is done away with; including these ones…

Laws of Social Responsibility

If you lend money to My people, to the poor among you, you are not to act as a creditor to him; you shall not charge him interest.
If you ever take your neighbor’s cloak as a pledge, you are to return it to him before the sun sets,
for that is his only covering; it is his cloak for his body. What else shall he sleep in?
And it shall come about that when he cries out to Me, I will hear him, for I am gracious.…
( Exodus 22:25-27 )

Pained

Again, what are we pained by? Our adherence to Laws & Regulations.

We confuse the great commision with the great omission.

Forsook that the Love of God is what Leads to repentance, we argue that it is our Preaching, our Laws, our resoluteness.

 

Loving God

The Greatest Commandment

Deuteronomy 6:5

“Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
“These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.

Matthew 22:37

…“Teacher, which commandment is the greatest in the Law?”
Jesus declared, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'”

 

Again, when one makes an argument one way or the other, those who are wise ought to be able and free to ask which tools of the being played a role in arriving at that decision.

Is it Love, Soul, Might, Mind…

 

Sola Scriptura

We deride gifts including Love and claim Scripture Only, Sola Scriptura.

What did Jesus die for? And, what are we dying for.

We skim over the fact that you do not have a word, if you do not have a burden.

Apologetics is good, but what are we arguing over.

Paul Wrote:

But reject foolish and ignorant speculation, for you know that it breeds quarreling.
And a servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome, but he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, and forbearing.
( 2 Timothy 2:23 )

I am sure that Paul had another word in mind, but thankfully the Holy Spirit got a bit ahead of him, and insisted on kindness first.

 

Leadership

Teaching?

  1. Old Testament
    • Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God. ( Jeremiah 5:4 )
  2. New Testament
    • “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? ( John 3:10 )

 

Using words from one of my teachers:

  1. I am waiting for God to go through the Church, and say you are not a Christian, you are are not a Christian
  2. Pushing people down, because we have no authority to raise them up

 

Prophecy?

Some of these teachers do not have a word outside of Doomsday prophecy; that which is already being written thousands of years ago.

And, yet they refresh and repackage it as a new word.

  1. Spirit
    • When the Spirit of God says do not fear, they say yes fear
    • When the Spirit do not worry how to respond as “The Spirit will give you words“, they take over
  2. Quietness
    • But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge. ( Daniel 12:4 )
    • And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. ( Revelations 10:4 )

Rabbi?

  1. Scribes and Pharisees
    • Love the greetings in the marketplaces, and the title of “Rabbi” by which they are addressed.
      But you are not to be called “Rabbi,” for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.
      ( Matthew 23:8 )

 

Prayer

I pray that we do not love “the praise of men more than the praise of God“.
