Nipsey Hussle – Crenshaw and Slauson (True Story)

Link

Rap niggas, they just wanna double date with you
Twitpic and show these hoes that they affiliate with you
Labels used to treatin’ rappers like a slave, nigga
Starvin’ artist, “Just be happy with your fame, nigga”
Shit changed, now it’s such a different game
All the niggas like myself is controlling everything

Was a charismatic nigga, I don’t play as much
Cause life is real when you live it in a place like us

Speaking to they soul, so they tell me I’m they favorite
Been through it myself, yeah, I know how it make you
Never let ’em judge you cuz they ain’t you
I could tell a long story or just say I’m grateful
I could tell a gang of reasons or just say I’m faithful

I’m not a rapper or a poet, I’m a poem, nigga
Always pull up in foreign that’s never loaned, nigga
Always speaking my music straight from my soul, nigga
My business partners Jewish but I’m all nigga

I been that nigga before the fame happened
That tell them hoes go get my name tatted
I love my life, y’all could hate that shit
All the smart money got they bets on me
And all them real niggas wish the best for me
All these bad bitches got some sex for me
Shout out them bad bitches getting dressed for me
They down to stand in line ’cause it’s well worth it
Pull up to my shows in Chanel purses
They jeans fit the worst but they smell perfect
Never argue with they niggas but they yell verses

      • The very thing you need, you take it

My Quick Take

You want to be disliked.  You want to be hated?

Reach for that empty middle seat.

Misunderstanding of the misunderstood.

It is always a good thing that in your memorial, they don’t talk about your talent, whom you were, but who you are.

How you got them closer to their best self; to their better ego.

He took my heart, when he said don’t worry I got you.

Having someone in a better place is noble.

I remember the words of  a man that I met at the laundry room a year or so ago.

Wisdom of a retiree.

Something about some people are Christians, they just don’t know it.

Always confusing the matter, didn’t know we was on the same team.

Here is to taking the time to meet and know the people here to raise and hold you.

They might not be here much longer once they are shown.

Of all the letting go, it is having to pour soil on laid down souls that breaks me.

People like to say that you never miss what you never had; but that is not all the way true.

Some people keep their light sheltered and speak in ways that is hard to understood.

Missing out on good sense; cause of what it is clothed in.

Here is to the cost they pay to steady and strengthen my feet.

Prayer

Let us continue to let the young lives live.

There is always a spot held for each of God’s creation.

It hurts to see it sit empty.

Dedicated

I heard Nipsey grandma in an interview talk about hoping some good come out of it; having faith.

And, so I am not far out of school here.

To God be the Glory.

As always, taking without permission.

But, Daylyt I couldn’t let sit still.

Verses

  1. Stood by me in my trials
    • And I bestow on you a kingdom, just as My Father has bestowed on Me, so that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones
      ( Luke 22:29 )
  2. Light
    • But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.
      ( Ephesians 5:13 )

In Closing

In closing when you are a friend of God, you give him maximum room to work in people’s lives.

You do not think too deeply into little things.

You introspectively look back at how he is working in your life; all the slow downs and put backs.

And, you think and say let him take his time; especially when he is working with young people.

APOSTOLIC AUTHORITY AND POWER

  1. Scripture
    • Mark 16:17-18
      • KJV [ Link ]
        17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
    • Luke 9:2
      • KJV [ Link ]
And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
    • Romans 15:18-19
      • KJV [ Link ]
18 I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done— 19 by the power of signs and wonders, through the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.

  3. Miracles
    • Miracles have not ceased
    • God authority has not ceased
    • Demonstrate God’s authority
      • We still need God’s authority to be demonstrated
  4. We gonna talk about, we are going to teach about, and God we want your demonstration to be here tonight
  5. There are 3 levels of Apostolic Authority we see in the New Testament
    • Waiting
      • People who have yet to receive
        • Acts 1:4-5
          • Acts 1:4-5 King James Version (KJV) [ Link ]
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
        • Acts 8:15-16
          • 15 When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, 16 because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
    • Laying on of Hands
      • Acts 8:14-16
        • 14 When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. 15 When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, 16 because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.18 When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money 19 and said, “Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”20 Peter answered: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! 21 You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God.22 Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. 23 For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.24 Then Simon answered, “Pray to the Lord for me so that nothing you have said may happen to me.25 After they had further proclaimed the word of the Lord and testified about Jesus, Peter and John returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many Samaritan villages.
    • Preached Word
      • Romans 10:17
        • 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
      • Acts 10:44-46
        • KJV ( Link )
          • 44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. 45 The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. 46 For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.
      • Matthew 8:7-10
        • KJV ( Link )
          • 7 Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”
8 The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.

It is Time For An Outpouring

  1. Repent
    • You must repent
    • You must repent as I can not do it for you
    • I am not a priest
      • And, I don’t have that power

Do not exceed what is written ( 1st Corinthians 4:6 )

1st Corinthians 4:6

Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “Do not go beyond what is written.” Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other.

Pretext

Here is the pretext :-

1 Corinthians 10:16
Link ( KJV )

  • Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
  • For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
  • Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
  • Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
  • I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
  • Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
  • And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

Reading

Let us read into the pretext a bit.

Paul is making a point of saying the following :-

  1. Uniformity in teaching is paramount
  2. What we hear and how we judge those words should reflect the rigor and essentials of the read and preached word
  3. Baptism is unto Jesus and not unto the preacher/teacher
  4. Trying to play the number game via baptismal should likely not be a motivation

Bible Verses

    • he said to them, “Take to heart all these words I testify among you today, so that you may command your children to carefully follow all the words of this law. For they are not idle words to you, because they are your life, and by them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”

  8. 2 John
    • Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work. ( 2 John 9:11 )  [ Link ]
  9. Titus
    • Teaching Sound Doctrine
      • But as for you, speak the things that are consistent with sound doctrine. Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self-controlled, and sound in faith, love, and perseverance.
Older women, likewise, are to be reverent in their behavior, not slanderers or addicted to much wine, but teachers of good.…( Titus 2:2 )  [ Link ]

  10. 2 Corinthians
    • But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

In Closing

I really like Matthew Henry’s commentary on Acts 2:42-47 …
Link

2:42-47 In these verses we have the history of the truly primitive church, of the first days of it; its state of infancy indeed, but, like that, the state of its greatest innocence. They kept close to holy ordinances, and abounded in piety and devotion; for Christianity, when admitted in the power of it, will dispose the soul to communion with God in all those ways wherein he has appointed us to meet him, and has promised to meet us. The greatness of the event raised them above the world, and the Holy Ghost filled them with such love, as made every one to be to another as to himself, and so made all things common, not by destroying property, but doing away selfishness, and causing charity. And God who moved them to it, knew that they were quickly to be driven from their possessions in Judea. The Lord, from day to day, inclined the hearts of more to embrace the gospel; not merely professors, but such as were actually brought into a state of acceptance with God, being made partakers of regenerating grace. Those whom God has designed for eternal salvation, shall be effectually brought to Christ, till the earth is filled with the knowledge of his glory.

  • 2 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him [ Parousia ],
  • 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
  • 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
  • 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
  • 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
  • 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
  • 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
  • 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
  • 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
  • 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
  • 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
  • 13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Deliverance and “Not So far away”

Background

A few months ago I met a lady at the Train Station.

Her obvious happiness drew me in.

New Job

As we spoke she volunteered that she just recently moved from a city about 2 hours from where we stay.

She is so happy to have a new job.

She quit her old job and will be starting this new one.

Rough Patch

Her happiness was much deeper than a new job.

Her real happiness sprang from being released from a strong addiction.

She said that drug addiction had led her down a rough patch.

The sad trail included :-

  1. Joblessness
  2. Homelessness including living on the streets
  3. Flash Mob Theft

Deliverance

She had tried to quit a few times but was unsuccessful.

She accidentally ran into new people and was introduced to a Church.

The new church has a deliverance ministry.

Unfortunately our short conversation did not dovetail into the actual deliverance process.

She allowed that since the actual delivery she slipped once, but the very next day she ran into the Pastor that led the Deliverance Ministry and she got back in.

Relocating

As previously attributed she moved to our City because of the job Change.

She did not feel like she was ready as her deliverance is ongoing.

But, she realizes she needs a job.

And, this new job is in the manufacturing sector and it pays well.

Build Our Own House

She said the thought of building our own house in Heaven resonates with her, as well.

I asked her where that is mentioned in the Bible.

And, she fumbled a bit with its actual placement.

My Take

  1. Sovereignty
    • Who actually gets saved is up to God
  2. Self Awareness
    • I think the person being worked on does not even know how much work he needs
    • How much healing one is actually experiencing is not always known
    • But, when the big monkey actually comes off, one knows it
      • Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: ( Luke 7:47 )
  3. Faith, Hope, and Love
    • Verses
      • Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.… ( 1 Corinthians 13:12-13 )
    • Reflection
      • Faith
        • Faith for healing has to be there
          • The person that needs the help has to have faith
        • The persons with the gift of healing has to have knowledge
          • Knowledge that they themselves have received the gift of healing
          • And, that it is  relatable to the person in need
      • Hope
        • Hope is faith still active
        • One can have faith, but with time it might be dull
      • Love
        • There are various aspects of Love that can play a role in release of pain
          • Family Love
          • Communal love
          • Romantic Love
          • Love for God
          • Love for humans

Summary

It is the presence of Love that frees us to release the dead wood and be trustful that something new and better is available and can be ours.

Beloved,

Sureness, in this place, at this time.

Within the ability to experience small set backs.

For the delivered as “seen God face to face, and being delivered” ( Genesis 32:30 )
