NFL Network removed Irvin from its coverage of Super Bowl LVII in February 2023 after allegations of sexual misconduct toward a woman at his hotel in the Phoenix area. Though surveillance video showed him interacting with the woman, Irvin told a Dallas-Fort Worth radio station that he had no recollection of any incident because he had been inebriated. He also denied there was any wrongdoing.

- In this video, we’ll discuss the Court’s March 10 emergency hearing in Michael Irvin’s $100M defamation case against Marriott. Then we’ll look at highlights from Marriott’s new Motion, in which it presents its version of events that ultimately led the NFL to cancel Michael Irvin’s TV appearances during the Super Bowl Week.
- On March 10, U.S. District Judge Amos Mazzant held an emergency hearing on Michael Irvin’s Emergency Motion to Enforce Court Order in response to Marriott’s refusal to provide Irvin with a copy of the surveillance footage depicting the brief interaction between Irvin and the hotel employee who has accused him of “misconduct.”
- Then we’ll look at the Order that Judge Mazzant signed after the hearing. The Order granted Irvin’s Motion to Enforce Court Order and directed Marriott to produce an unaltered copy of the surveillance footage to Irvin by the end of the day.
- Finally, we’ll look at highlights from Marriott’s “Motion for Protective Order and to Limit Pretrial Publicity,” which Marriott filed after the March 10 hearing. The Motion presents Marriott’s version of events and explains the steps that Marriott and the NFL took to investigate the incident.
