WebEx – Run on Start Up – Suspend

Background

A couple of weeks ago, I installed WebEx.

Observation

The next time that I restarted my machine, I noticed a new icon (  ) in the status bar of my MS Window computer.

Was able to determine that the icon is for WebEx.

I don’t use it that often and so I really do not need it to autostart.

Let us try to remediate.

Configuration

WebEx

Initial Screen

Here is the my initial screen for WebEx.

SYstem

WebEx’s initial screen does not provide functionality for adjusting whether WebEx automatically starts with Windows.

Win OS

System Configuration utility ( msconfig )

Let us try to use msconfig’s startup tooling to adjust which applications autostart.

Outline

  1. Launch MSConfig by running msconfig.exe
  2. Access the Startup Tab
    • The Startup Tab no longer displays the list of applications that starts upon starting Windows
    • We are told:
      • To manage startup items, use the Startup section of Task Manager
      • Open Task Manager
