Win Streak

Argentina’s road a 36 games win run into the World Cup.

Saudi Arabia dealt Argentina a sudden and unexpected loss.

Giving Everything

Argentina is a very formidable team.

The front line of Lionel Messi ( #10 ), Lautaro Martinez ( #22 ), Julián Álvarez, nicknamed “La Araña – The Spider,  ( #9 ) is very capable.

Midfielders – Marcos Acuna ( #8 ).

From the defensive side, Lisandro Martinez ( #25 ) joined the offense and tried for the matching goal.

Saudi Arabia

Goal Keeper

Mohammed Khalil Al Owais tended the goal for the Saudis.

He did everything.

Yes, Argentina threw everything including the kitchen sink at him.

Yet, he clogged up that goal line.

 

Forwards

Saleh Al-Shehri ( #11 ) scored in the 48th minute.

Salem Al Dawsari ( #10 ) found the net five minutes later; in the 53rd minute.

Both what beautiful crossing shots.

To me it is hard to adjust one’s body and keep enough strength and momentum to get powerful kicks in.

The first goal was a sure lefty.

The second goals was right legged while off balance.

 

Next Matches

Both teams play Mexico and Poland next.

Argentina plays Mexico on Saturday ( November 26th ).

And, Poland next week Thursday ( December 1st ).

Argentina remains very potent.

To me the Argentines simply have too much fire-power and it is very unlikely they will remain as unfortunate as they were today.

Three ( 3 ) goals were called back as offsides in the first half.
