Requirements For Righteousness
Patriarchs
- Job’s righteousness ( Job 29:11–17 ) helping every category of the needy or the helpless ( Link )
- 11 For those who heard me called me blessed, and those who saw me commended me,12 because I rescued the poor who cried out and the fatherless who had no helper.13 The dying man blessed me, and I made the widow’s heart sing for joy.14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; justice was my robe and my turban.15 I served as eyes to the blind and as feet to the lame.16 I was a father to the needy, and I took up the case of the stranger.17 I shattered the fangs of the unjustand snatched the prey from his teeth.
- Things God disapproves of ( Job 31:16–22 ) ( Link )
- 16 If I have denied the desires of the poor or allowed the widow’s eyes to fail,17 if I have eaten my morsel alone, not sharing it with the fatherless—18 though from my youth I reared him as would a father, and from my mother’s womb I guided the widow—19 if I have seen one perish for lack of clothing,or a needy man without a cloak,20 if his heart has not blessed mefor warming him with the fleece of my sheep,21 if I have lifted up my hand against the fatherlessbecause I saw that I had support in the gate,22 then may my arm fall from my shoulderand be torn from its socket.
- Heart Revealed ( Job 31:24–28 ) ( Link )
- 24 If I have put my trust in gold or called pure gold my security,25 if I have rejoiced in my great wealth because my hand had gained so much,26 if I have beheld the sun in its radianceor the moon moving in splendor,27 so that my heart was secretly enticedand my hand threw a kiss from my mouth,28 this would also be an iniquity to be judged, for I would have denied God on high.

- 9 When you reap the harvest of your land, you are not to reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest.
- Deuteronomy 14:28-29 – Giving Tithes ( Link )
- …27 And do not neglect the Levite within your gates, since he has no portion or inheritance among you.
- 28 At the end of every three years, bring a tenth of all your produce for that year and lay it up within your gates.

- I look upon Derek Prince as a spiritual father because I admire his hard won accomplishments and especially how he has a soft heart (my family calls it a “squishy heart”) that breaks into tears, uncontrollably.
