Took a nice long walk yesterday evening.

I just had to get my ass out this house.

Empanada

It is Sunday evening and for once Mama did not cook dinner.

And, so walked a mile or so to a Philipino Store to get Empanada.

Wanted a case of 7 pieces or so.

But, the lady said they only have 3 pieces left.

I asked how long it might take to get more out of the oven.

She said not till tomorrow.

I said OK I will take it.

She said it is $8. I said OK.

I placed the Credit Card into the machine.

Then she looked at me and said the minimum amount for CC is $10.

My Bad, Been Cashed out for a while now.

I am out.

In “I Took a Pill in Ibiza,” Posner reflects on his career as a musician, specifically the rise-and-fall cycle of his fame. Musically, he demonstrates a new, Americana acoustic style, a pivot from his sound on previous songs, like “Cooler Than Me.”

Posner’s guitar-driven original and SeeBs remixed version of the song both appear on his sophomore album, At Night, Alone.

The SeeBs remix, which morphs the song into something you might actually hear at an Ibiza club, blew up even harder than the original.

It’s ironic that a song about the sad emptiness of music industry fame became so much more successful when dressed up in the clothes of a big-house EDM festival smasher. It’s a similar story to Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness” and its remix.

Like Outkast’s “Hey Ya” or Springsteen’s “Born in the USA,” it’s one of those songs whose sound and lyrics are completely in contrast to each other, and if you only listen to the sound you miss that the lyrics go in an entirely different direction.
