Desktop Browsers Notifications Setting – Solid No

Background

Let us go over the steps to prevent popular desktop browsers from prompting us for notifications.

  1. Google – Chrome ( Link )
  2. Mozilla.Org – Firefox ( Link )
  3. Microsoft – Edge ( Link )

 

Google – Chrome

Outline

  1. Access Settings
    • Enter chrome://settings/content/notifications into the URL Form
  2. Adjust Settings
    • Navigate to the “Sites can ask to send notifications” option
    • The notification button will either be on or off
      • Here is the on button:-
      • And, here is the off button:-
    • To prevent notifications, please click or dial on the button

Mozilla.Org – Firefox

Outline

  1. Access Settings
    • Enter about:preferences#privacy into the URL Form
  2. Adjust Settings
    • Navigate to the Permissions group box
    • Click on the Settings button next to the Notifications option
    • Check the option stating “Block new requests asking to allow Notifications

  1. Access Settings
    • Enter “edge://settings/content/notifications?search=notifications” into the URL Form
  2. Adjust Settings
    • In the search area, please enter “notifications
    • Ask before sending ( recommended )
      • By default, notifications will be allowed and the button will be on
      • Please disable by toggling the button or dialing off
