Who will take care of you…

As we round out 2020, we are all left befuddled.

Thinking Wow.

I will like to use scripture to lighten up the load a bit.

  1. Luke 4:25-26 [ Link ]
    • But I tell you truthfully that there were many widows in Israel in the time of Elijah, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and great famine swept over all the land.
Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to the widow of Zarephath in Sidon.…
  2. Luke 10:21 [ Link ]
    • At that time Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was well-pleasing in Your sight.
  3. Isaiah 53:12 [ Link ]
    • Therefore I will allot Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the spoils with the strong, because He has poured out His life unto death, and He was numbered among the transgressors. Yet He bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors.
  4. Daniel 12:3 [ Link ]
    • Then the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

Your Providence is great, yet all the more quiet and gracious.

It hides, yet occasionally sneaks upon us.

It speaks of Elijah, a prophet to the Nations, been sent to a foreign land, a widower.

The Son

It speaks of our Savior, our Messiah, rejoicing in the Spirit and praising you.

Not just as a Lord of Heaven, but as a Lord of the earth, as well.

Thought, the earth was given up to Satan.

It talks of his heavenly father hidden from the wise and learned, yet revealed to little children.

Prophet Isaiah foretold that you bore the sins of many and made intercessions for the transgressors.

Prophet Daniel said our duty is to lead many to righteousness.

In this holiday season, clear our minds, strengthen our soul, brighten our countenance.

Repair our frailties.

Bring a word of encouragement to your people.

Meet us at the well, let us sense your worthiness as one we can open up to, and fess that yes we have been married many times.

And, even the one we are with, has us unmarried.

Religion has a way of telling us all the things we are doing wrong.

On the other hand, spirituality is seamless.

You are a Prophet

“Sir, the woman said, “I see that You are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews say that the place where one must worship is in Jerusalem.”… ( Link )

I like the fact that she called him Sir.

I like the fact that she sensed his prophetic pedigree.

I like the fact that she fessed the cultural confusion about where to worship.

I like the fact that he cleared up that the issue is not geographic nor political

“Believe Me, woman,” Jesus replied, “a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.… ( Link )

He furthered

But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him.… ( Link )

He clarified to her:-

  1. Time
    • Of a coming time
    • That was coming but has now come
  2. True
    • True Worshippers
    • He did not say worshippers, he said those who worship in truth
  3. Father
    • Worship the Father
      • In Spirit
        • Through the Holy Spirit
      • In Truth
        • Hearkened to his messiahship
    • Father is seeking
      • It is my prayer and hopes that he has sought your heart out
    • To Worship Him
      • Not all this silliness that people are stealing believers from God to go worship these days
      • Sorry, but if you know him, you will not steal from him
      • As you will understand the fullness and foolness of that steal…

Please do not leave it to us to meet you.

Go out of your way.

Draw us to you.

And, allow intimacy.

Sometimes we have to go back to the beginning.

Here is the scripture:-

When Jesus realized that the Pharisees were aware He was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John (although it was not Jesus who baptized, but His disciples), He left Judea and returned to Galilee.… ( John 4:2-3 )

Now He had to pass through Samaria.… ( John 4:4 )

So He came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob had given to his son Joseph.…( John 4:5 )

Since Jacob’s well was there, Jesus, weary from His journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.…
( John 4:6 )

My take:-

  1. The spirit of religion is always pointing out who is doing what, why it is wrong, what their motives are.
  2. Its intent is to rouse up jealousy
  3. Hence our Savior is always on the move
  4. He understands tradition
    • He remembers Jacob and his love for his son, Joseph
    • He thought to himself there must be a prayer here
    • Must be a promise made
    • He spoke to his father through the spirit and confirmed that the promise is eternal
  5. Weared
    • Though worn and tired, he sat down by the well
    • Close enough to the well
    • Awaiting someone who needs water
    • Drawn out to the well with the expectation that this might be the day
    • Reinforced that I will rather do it during the day and not wait till night

I just hope and pray that this very evening our Holy Father might meet someone who needs to hear from him.

As you engage each of us, please Lord, expound on the true gifts of God and the Living Water that leads to met physical and spiritual needs.

Free us of these shackles and have us madly run back to our villages and silos, fessing our freedom from intended slavery:-

Jesus answered, “If you knew the gift of God and who is asking you for a drink, you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”…
