Bible and CSS

Background

A family member came by to show me the work he has been doing with CSS.

It looks good, yet I wanted him to separate out the verse number from the verse text.

Original Work

Here is the work he showed me.

He is working on a bit of CSS Concepts that are new to him.

BibleHub

BibleHub is my goto online bible.

Went by and reviewed its HTML Code.

CSS

BibleHub uses CSS to decorate the verse number:-

CSS – Syntax

.reftext
{
    FONT-SIZE: 11px;
    COLOR: #001320;
    LINE-HEIGHT: 15px;
    margin-left:1px;    margin-right:2px;
    vertical-align: text-top;
    FONT-FAMILY: Arial, Helvetica, Sans-serif;
}

CSS – Sample Usage

Result

Luke 1:1-4

Original

1Many have undertaken to compose an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, 2just as they were handed down to us by the initial eyewitnesses and servants of the word. 3Therefore, having carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, 4so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.
