Background

Trying to download software from Microsoft’s Visual Studio Download web site,  https://download.my.visualstudio.com/ [ Link ], but ran into issues.

The error message is documented below.

download.my.visualstudio.com refused to connect.

Try:

    • Checking the connection
    • Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Explanation

Asked to check the following:-

  1. Network Connection
  2. Internet Browser
    • Internet Browser – Proxy Settings
  3. Network Firewall

 

TroubleShooting

Outline

  1. Tried different browsers

 

Remediation

Accessed the VPN Software and disconnected from the VPN Server.

Retried using direction connection and not under VPN.
