Christian – Teaching and Stumblings

Background

      • …“Does the LORD speak only through Moses?” they said. “Does He not also speak through us?
        And the LORD heard this.
        Now Moses was a very humble man, more so than any man on the face of the earth.
        And suddenly the LORD said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, “You three, come out to the Tent of Meeting.” So the three went out,…

        ( Job 17:3 ) { Link }

    • God’s Justice
      • …who says to kings, ‘You are worthless!’ and to nobles, ‘You are wicked,’ who is not partial to princes and does not favor rich over poor? For they are all the work of His hands.
        ( Job 34:19 ) { Link }
  3.  John
    • Jesus and Nicodemus
      • …“How can this be?” Nicodemus asked. “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and you do not understand these things?
        Truly, truly, I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, and yet you people do not accept our testimony.…
        ( John 3:10 ) { Link }
  4. Luke
    • The Cost of Discipleship
      • For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
        Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

    • Temptations and Trespasses
      • Jesus said to His disciples, “It is inevitable that stumbling blocks will come, but woe to the one through whom they come!
        It would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and to be thrown into the sea than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.…”
        ( Luke 17:1 ) { Link }
  5. Matthew
    • The Two Foundations
      • Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. “And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.   “The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall“.
        ( Matthew 7:24-27 ) { Link }
    • Temptations and Trespasses
      • But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
        Woe to the world for the causes of sin.
        These stumbling blocks must come, but woe to the man through whom they come!
        ( Matthew 18:6-7 ) { Link }
    • Sheep among Wolves
      • Look, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
        But beware of men; for they will hand you over to their councils and flog you in their synagogues.…
        ( Matthew 10:16-17 ) { Link }
    • Rest for the Weary
      • …Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
        Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
        For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
        ( Matthew 11:29 ) { Link }
  6. Romans
    • Law of Liberty
      • Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on his opinions
        ( Romans 14:1 ) { Link }
    • Law of Love
      • So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
        Therefore let us stop judging one another.
        Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother’s way.
        ( Romans 14:13 ) { Link }
      • Keep your belief about such matters between yourself and God.
        Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves.
        ( Romans 14:22 ) { Link }
  7. Hebrews
    • A Call to Holiness
      • Make straight paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be debilitated, but rather healed.
        Pursue peace with all men, as well as holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.
        Be careful that no one falls short of the grace of God, so that no root of bitterness will spring up to cause trouble and defile many.…
        ( Hebrews 12:14 ) { Link }
  8. 1st Corinthians
    • The Message of the Cross
      • For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with words of wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”…
        ( 1 Corinthians 1:17-19 ) { Link }
    • Spiritual Wisdom
      • …And this is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man judges all things, but he himself is not subject to anyone’s judgment.
        ( 1 Corinthians 2:14 ) { Link }
    • Being Watchful in Freedom
      • Be careful, however, that your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak.
        ( 1 Corinthians 8:9 ) { Link }
  9. 2nd Corinthians
    • Freedom In the Spirit
      • But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
        Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
        ( 2 Corinthians 3:17 ) { Link }
  10. 1st Timothy
    • Faith and Good Conscience

        whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.…
        ( 1 Timothy 1:19 ) { Link }
  11. 3 John
    • Diotrephes
      • I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us.
        So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us.
        Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers.
        He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church.
        ( 3rd John 1:9 ) { Link }
    • Pen and Ink
      • I have much to write you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink.  I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face.
        ( 3rd John 1:13 ) { Link }
  12. Jude
    • Flattery
      • These men are discontented grumblers, following after their own lusts; their mouths spew arrogance; they flatter others for their own advantage
        ( Jude 1:16 ) { Link }
  13.  Revelations
    • To the Church in Pergamum
      • But I have a few things against you, because some of you hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to place a stumbling block before the Israelites so they would eat food sacrificed to idols and commit sexual immorality.
        In the same way, some of you also hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.…
        ( Revelations 2:14-15 ) { Link }
    • To the Church in Thyatira
      • You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess.
        By her teaching she misleads My servants to be sexually immoral and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
        Even though I have given her time to repent of her immorality, she is unwilling
        ( Revelations 2:21 ) { Link }
    • To the Church in Laodicea
      • I know your deeds; you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were one or the other! So because you are lukewarm— neither hot nor cold— I am about to vomit you out of My mouth! You say, ‘I am rich; I have grown wealthy and need nothing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.

Exposing the Spirit of Jezebel

  1. Spirit of Bitterness
    • Pick up on Spirit of Bitterness
      • That has made some ineffectual vessels of the Gospel
  2. Wounded
  3. Follow Peace with all men
    • Here Pastor Demola points out that following Peace is in accordance with Holiness
    • I am
      • Some will say I am just being Holy
      • I am just being Truthful Here
    • But, somehow Paul through the compulsion of the Holy Spirit does not disentangle Holiness from Peacefulness
  4. Division
    • Whispers behind closed doors
    • I am just giving my opinion
    • Well, we don’t like your opinion when it divides the body of Christ
    • We have the idea of what comes with us, stays with us
      • But, it doesn’t
      • It affects other people, especially those people in our sphere of influence
    • Leading Away
      • Every time we become a perpetrator of these things
      • It can lead people completely away from God
    • Satan’s Tool
      • Seditious Things that the enemies will sow
      • Slander
        • Drive Brothers against Brothers
        • Sisters against Sisters
        • Anytime there is slander, you know who is behind it
        • Drive a wedge between people
  5. Anonymous People
    • Getting anonymous letters
    • I do not understand the plight of black people

Prayer

Beloved, if you have been called into ministry, guide yourself and your ministry.

Pray over it, learn to spend time with God, Love of God, and its spirit.

Have it covet and love you.

The Spirit of God

  1. Probation
    • The Spirit of God forces one to discern God’s probation period and not mistake it for consent
  2. Wound
    • The wound that someone could have allowed a Holy God to heal, becomes an untreated wound
    • If left untreated
      • The Devil uses it to cloud ministry
      • Allow Satan’s an Open Door
      • Have the ministrant parcel it with the word of God
      • The ministrant can still carry on ministry, but unfortunately, that same curse can rub off on other people
  3. Son of God
    • Son of God beware who you sit under
    • Understand what you are signing up
