A good man ambushed me on my way to lunch this afternoon.
His question is how does Active Directory support usernames longer than 8 characters.
I replied repeatedly there is no 8 character limit on usernames.
He shook his head and said No.
Google to the rescue.
I googled for Active Directory username requirements.
And, it answered back 64 characters.
That was that. I am good and so please let me go to lunch.
But, he was yet convinced
Active Directory Users and Computers
I asked him to please launch Active Directory Users and Computers.
But, he did not have it installed.
Launched Computer Management and tried to add users to my local Users group; knowing that will lend me access to the plentiful users in Active Directory.
Changed Columns return to include :-
- Logon Name ( pre-Windows 2000 )
- Logon Name
