Deliverance and “Not So far away”

A few months ago I met a lady at the Train Station.

Her obvious happiness drew me in.

New Job

As we spoke she volunteered that she just recently moved from a city about 2 hours from where we stay.

She is so happy to have a new job.

She quit her old job and will be starting this new one.

Rough Patch

Her happiness was much deeper than a new job.

Her real happiness sprang from being released from a strong addiction.

She said that drug addiction had led her down a rough patch.

The sad trail included :-

  1. Joblessness
  2. Homelessness including living on the streets
  3. Flash Mob Theft

She had tried to quit a few times but was unsuccessful.

She accidentally ran into new people and was introduced to a Church.

The new church has a deliverance ministry.

Unfortunately our short conversation did not dovetail into the actual deliverance process.

She allowed that since the actual delivery she slipped once, but the very next day she ran into the Pastor that led the Deliverance Ministry and she got back in.

As previously attributed she moved to our City because of the job Change.

She did not feel like she was ready as her deliverance is ongoing.

But, she realizes she needs a job.

And, this new job is in the manufacturing sector and it pays well.

Build Our Own House

She said the thought of building our own house in Heaven resonates with her, as well.

I asked her where that is mentioned in the Bible.

And, she fumbled a bit with its actual placement.

My Take

  1. Sovereignty
    • Who actually gets saved is up to God
  2. Self Awareness
    • I think the person being worked on does not even know how much work he needs
    • How much healing one is actually experiencing is not always known
    • But, when the big monkey actually comes off, one knows it
      • Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: ( Luke 7:47 )
  3. Faith, Hope, and Love
    • Verses
      • Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.… ( 1 Corinthians 13:12-13 )
    • Reflection
      • Faith
        • Faith for healing has to be there
          • The person that needs the help has to have faith
        • The persons with the gift of healing has to have knowledge
          • Knowledge that they themselves have received the gift of healing
          • And, that it is  relatable to the person in need
      • Hope
        • Hope is faith still active
        • One can have faith, but with time it might be dull
      • Love
        • There are various aspects of Love that can play a role in release of pain
          • Family Love
          • Communal love
          • Romantic Love
          • Love for God
          • Love for humans

It is the presence of Love that frees us to release the dead wood and be trustful that something new and better is available and can be ours.

Sureness, in this place, at this time.

Within the ability to experience small set backs.

For the delivered as “seen God face to face, and being delivered” ( Genesis 32:30 )
