IBM Data Studio

Background

In an earlier post spoke of configuring DBeaver to connect and query an IBM DB/2 LUW instance.

Choose your platform

Explanation

Choose “Data Studio Client [alone]” as do not need “IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator Studio“.

Sign in to IBM – Enter IBMid

Extract

Here we are extracting the compressed file.

Explanation

Choose the targeted folder.

 

Installation

There are two distinct aspects of Installing Data Studio; the two sides are installing the package manager, “Installation Manager“, and installing the product itself.

Here we are extracting the compressed file.

Installation Manager ( Product 1 of 2 )

Welcome

Outline

The first screen is the “Welcome” screen.

Install or Update Product

Outline

Please access the “Install or Update Product” screen.

We are granted two options :-

  1. Administrative Installation or Update
  2. Non-Administrative Installation or Update

As we have “Administrative” access to the computer, we chose “Administrative Installation or Update“.

Install Packages

Install Packages – Tab – Install

Outline

The initial tab is the “Install” tab.

The packages to be installed are listed.

In our case the “IBM Installation Manager” is listed.
