Paul Simon – Graceland – 25 Years later

To me “Public TV” is one of those things that one is apt to take for granted.  But, our lives  would be so much emptier outside of it.

So here I was Friday, Movie Night,  and I am trying to watch a movie.  But, before switching over to the DVD, there was “Check, Please! – Bay Area”

And, who can really switch over/off “Check, Please! – Bay Area”.

Next came the gem of the evening; Paul Simon’s documentary of “GraceLand – 25 Years” later.

Here is a preview of the show:

Paul Simon’s Graceland Journey: Under African Skies begins with Paul Simon’s 2011 emotional journey back to South Africa and the roots of his seminal album Graceland, but it unfolds into a kaleidoscopic portrait of the turbulent birth and ever-shifting life of a work of art.

In 2007 Alison Krauss, Stevie Wonder, Lyle Lovett, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Marc Anthony, Art Garfunkel and a host of others joined Paul Simon in Washington, D.C., to honor Paul as the first recipient of the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.
