Microsoft – SQLServer – Management Studio – Clear out customizations (userProfile – Database Connection Profile – ServerName\username\password)
This is one you really hope Microsoft makes a bit easier.
You are continually connecting to Databases trying out new username \ password combinations. After a while, your Management Studio, username & password combination gets a bit cluttered.
You look around Management Studio and see if there is a way to tag username & password you no longer need.
But, no quick way.
So once again, you Google.
And, hopefully, soon enough you find:
Removing the remembered login and password list in SQL Management Studio
SQL Server Management Studio 2008 delete the file
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Shell\SqlStudio.bin
SQL Server Management Studio 2005 delete the file – same as above answer but the Vista path.
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming \Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\Shell\mru.dat
These are profile paths for Vista / 7.
