Microsoft – Media Player – DVD – Viewing – Windows 2008

Watching DVDs on Microsoft’s Windows 2008 Server is not for those without time to lose:

But, thankfully, I think we are on to a winner.  And, the current winner as of today (2011-01-08)  is Media Player Codec Pack.

Enable Audio Support

  1. Start->Run->”Service.msc”->Windows Audio -> Automatic
  2. Start->Run->”Services.msc”->Windows Audio Endpoint Builder->Automatic

Enable Vista Experience (look & feel including Aero, Media Player etc.)

  1. Start->Server Manager->Features->Add Feature->Desktop Experience

Enable Theme

  1. Enable Themes Start->Run->”Service.msc”->Themes->Automatic
